creative direction + art direction + production
In 1997, the World Wide Web was exploding onto the scene, and university freshman Bohdan Smaha was trying to balance his geography studies with his newly discovered passion: Building websites.
The Internet’s talent scouts soon caught up with him, and by his junior year, Bohdan was juggling his studies with his job as a web designer for LiTech, one of the Ukraine’s largest cable, phone, and Internet providers.
Shortly after Bohdan received his degree, the dot-com bubble burst. Undeterred, our hero packed his suitcase and left the Ukraine for America, where he polished his design skills at the Art Institute of Atlanta and met his wife, Carrie. Recognizing that slick interfaces alone wouldn’t keep web businesses afloat, Bohdan then moved to Virginia to pursue his MBA at Regent University, where he met Alex, his future partner.
In 2004, the two young entrepreneurs joined forces, and Visual Harbor was born. A few years later, Bohdan and Carrie married and had two daughters. They remain Bohdan’s proudest accomplishments.
